Thanks! No need to apologize for your focus on the election. (Your blog, you've gotta write what you feel you should write!) But having said that, I've appreciated all the election coverage and there is sure to be a lot in the next few months as Romney and Gingrich begin to compete.

Keep up the good work! And in case you didn't see, the Monkey Cage referenced and cited you: http://themonkeycage.org/blog/2011/12/05/madisonianism-or-opportunism/

Ask, and you shall receive: I'm working on a TR/Obama post right now. It will be up shortly. I do apologize for the heavy focus on election issues, and realize I've been slighting coverage of a topic that's relevant to a blog about the presidency - namely, the President! I'll try to redress the imbalance a bit in the coming weeks, but realistically the election is a huge story right now, particularly given the somewhat unexpected nature of the race to date.

Morning Matt,

How come so little reporting on the presidents' goings-on? I've been enjoying your Republican candidacy coverage, but I've been curious about the conferences and summits Obama's been going to. Because I don't know the basics about them, I'm curious how these conferences actually function and what they serve. Similar to all the EU summits, how much actually gets negotiated in these meetings and how much is new, how much is attributable to individual influence, etc.?

Also in the news, do you see the Obama-Teddy Roosevelt speech as a potentially real turning point? It would seemingly be a viable opportunity if he wanted to change his conciliatory politics. For his reelection campaign, he could change the argument from one about his performance to one about Republican economics...however well that might work, I don't know.

Thanks,
