100% respect for Sarah Palin for staying in the game as long as she has. Considering how much she has been ridiculed since 2008, she has to be doing something right. Although I understand that for now she's "running the only way she can," I'm concerned about how that will play out for her as the Republican primary gets closer. Even though she's keeping her name out there, missing debates and other big events for the candidates will undoubtedly bring up questions of "where were you when..." eventually. In my opinion, she needs to announce soon, or she's going to be forgotten, especially as Bachmann gains more and more recognition and support.

I really think it's now or never for Palin in 2012. After the disaster of the 2008 campaign, if she gets in the race for 2012, she really can't afford to screw it up by waiting too long. If I were her I would go all in right now, or save up for the 2016 election. And maybe that's what she's doing. I'm not confident that any of the Republican candidates right now can beat Obama in 2012, and maybe she isn't either. If she has that much foresight, maybe she'll emerge as the clear front runner when 2016 rolls around (and she'll have money from upwards of 6 years worth of fundraising!).

I still think Sarah Palin is an idiot, but maybe (just maybe) she's smarter than she looks...
