Has anyone else considered doing an analysis of several music videos? Since they function as advertisements, sites of artistic expression, and showcases for the musical texts themselves, music videos seem to offer a lot of opportunities for applying the theories we have looked at this semester.

Although it hasn’t been mentioned in the class, I’m curious as to what the role of pornography as a site of popular culture is.
Though I don’t think this will be my research paper topic, it’s an interesting subject to think about in regards to what we’ve studied thus far (and especially recently with feminism and the commodification of women, sex, etc.).
