Martin Bridge Lecture Poster

I spent the morning today doing a quick job for Middlebury’s new School of the Environment.

They are having a lecture on Tuesday, July 1st by their artist-in-residence Martin Bridge.

From the official event announcement:

“Martin Bridge, artist-in-residence for the School of Environment, will speak on the contributions of art to environmental awareness and engagement.  He describes himself as proudly carrying his family tradition forth as he lives, creates and teaches in the hills of Western Massachusetts.  His work spans a wide range of media from Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Theater Design and Site Specific Installations to Performance.  He strives to create work that improves his own awareness of how he relates to the natural world and invites viewers to contemplate how to live in better balance with the world around us.  Through his work he hopes to inspire and cultivate a greater sense of mystery and possibility in our experience of the world.”

Additionally, an original piece painted by Bridge will be unveiled in honor of Bridge’s inaugural session at the School of Environment.

The Posters

I made two versions of the posters, one with the above description, and one without.  I used Bridge’s piece called Seven Tines as a background.
