To some extent I agree with your claim that students are initially eager to promote change but then life/reality kicks in. I do not however believe that we are &quot;becoming more disconnected from our willingness to take action and promote change&quot;. Of course, you too are aware of the many great organizations that function on campus as a result of legitimate, concerted efforts on behalf of our student body. Yet, to quantify those efforts and conclude that less of it exists now, in my opinion, is a disservice to all those who are actively engaged (don&#039;t get ME wrong, I&#039;m definitely not the most active student on campus in this respect). Maybe it isn&#039;t that we&#039;re more disconnected from our willingness now but instead more aware of where we want our voices heard. I remember starting here at Middlebury two and half years ago and not having even half of the confidence and clarity I now possess. It&#039;s possible that the kind of effort and willingness you write about just isn&#039;t quantifiable.]]></description>
