Calling all NOMers!
Nutrition Outreach and Mentoring (NOM) is looking for volunteers to join us for two taste tests with local, in season produce this Thursday, October 25th at Cornwall and Friday, October 26th at Mary Hogan! This month the harvest is KALE! We originally sent out an email about these taste tests last week, but they were both moved to this week. If you signed up last week, please feel free to sign up now instead!
At Cornwall, there will be two shifts: one prep shift from 11:15am – 12pm, and one data collection and serving shift from 12:30 – 1:15pm. Please fill out this Google form by Wednesday at 6pm if you would like to volunteer for either of these Cornwall shifts!
At Mary Hogan, there will be three shifts, each of them serving and performing data collection: 11:30am – 12:00pm, 12:00 – 12:30pm, and 12:30 – 1:00pm. There is also an opportunity to help prep from 9-10am! Please fill out this Google form by Thursday at 6pm if you would like to volunteer for any of the Mary Hogan shifts!
Before the taste tests, feel free to browse through the Vermont Harvest of the Month Curriculum to learn a little bit more about kale.
Let us know if you have any questions or comments by emailing Maddie Maloney at email@example.com.
With kale 😉
The NOM Board
We are so excited to announce our first dinner and mentoring event with the Addison County Teen Center this Friday, October 12th from 4-5pm! If you are staying on campus for fall break, this is an excellent way to get involved with NOM, cook sweet potato fries with local teens and teach them basic cooking skills and healthy eating habits.
If you would like to join us for this exciting new partnership, sign up using this Google form by Thursday at 6pm. We will be in touch about transportation details later in the week.
As always, if you’d like to learn more about NOM or have any questions, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can’t wait to volunteer with you!

This dinner is open to all students — no previous volunteer experience with NOM required!
