The R/V Baldwin is still in service and has a new mission, that of assisting in the underwater archeology program at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (LCMM). The Baldwin was donated to the museum a year ago. She was used this past summer on Lake Champlain as well as on one of the FInger Lakes as the diving platform for their research team.
I enjoyed watching this and seeing Dr. Folger looking so young--hardly seems possible how many years it's been since I took Oceanography under him. What a lovely tribute to a great teacher ... I wish both my professor and his namesake vessel many years of useful life!
