An Observer in the City

During his summer internship in New York City, David Huntington Seamans ’13 realized that there is a fine line between observing what’s going around him in the city and becoming whatever he will become after graduation.

In his short film below, see how a college student from Arizona experienced the big city while interning at Ars Nova, one of New York’s leading incubators for emerging artists. David Seamans is a film and English joint major currently sharing his talents as an intern with the College Communications Office.

David’s internship was made possible thanks to funding from the Middlebury Arts Council and the Center for Education in Action.

  1. What a lovely piece of work. It’s hard to imagine this guy won’t get his way in the world . . . one way or another . . .

  2. I loved this video and would love to use it to inspire some students who are planning on doing internships this year from our college. I always hope that students will just learn to observe and pay attention much as you have done here. Nicely done and fun to see the images you have chosen to illustrate your narration.
