Koichi Ishiyama taught me Judo and Karate in 1967 at Keewaydin on Lake Dunmore. Three or four of us earned Purple belts at the ages of 13. He taught us the best breathing rhythm for our run-training. He was such a cheerful guy, and talented. He embodied the Keewaydin saying "Help the Other Fellow". He was there only for that single year. I have always looked up to his memory, and wondered what happened to him. It was emotional to see his old picture today for the first time on the Keewaydin history DVD. I instantly remembered this picture of him and the campers of his tent. I certainly hope to meet him again someday.
