I was at Ground Zero as a photojournalist with the San Jose Mercury News. You (Michael) showed me around the south tower. We spoke about Bond's home run chase, hockey and of course the disaster. I sent you photos, or tried to. I will never forget that day or you; though my memories from that time are somehow clear and yet a blur. I have worried about you and the other first responders. I saved the email you wrote me and was reading it tonight so decided to search for your name. I am amazed I found this. Your story is riveting, I would like to read more. I hope writing has helped. I am not a photojournalist any more - I've seen enough. But I am playing hockey. I hope, and have been hoping for all these years, that you are well.

Michael,
Personally I'm glad you wrote about this experience. I remember talking to you about being a first respondent and how difficult it was for you being there.
Good stuff. Keep writing.
