I knew Peter for many years when I would visit my sister Bettie Crilly in Cape May ,NJ. I spent many wonderful days and evening with Peter. He loved Cape May and could tell you the history that was in this small tourist town. He knew all the prominent and historical homes in Cape May when the were built and who lived in them. Peter was well known in this tourist town. You could see him walking or riding his bike on the streets. Everyone knew and loved Peter. Peter took great care of my sister and even watched over his husband Dan Crilly when he was dying of cancer. When my sister was diagnosed with cancer he was right there by her side until she passed away. Peter never knew a stranger. He was a great friend and I will miss him greatly. Knowing Peter he is up in Haven organizing a game or chatting with his family and Bettie. Middlebury lost true friend and mentor.
