Middlebury

A philanthropy network that supports Middlebury athletes. Go Blue!

Greetings from Middlebury College! I am looking forward to my 7th season as coach of Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving. Our incredible student-athletes recently returned to campus to begin a new academic year, and we are preparing for the 2016–17 season. This year we’re looking forward to a very successful season in the NESCAC which has become the most competitive conference for swimming and diving in the country. We added 16 first-year student-athletes to a returning group of 50 swimmers and divers. We have very high goals for the year, while not losing sight of the importance of balance in the lives of our student-athletes.

Every year at this time, we ask members of the College community who have an interest in swimming and diving to help us stay competitive. Your financial support helps to equip and train our student athletes and to pay our travel expenses. We hope that we can count on you to support our team this year. I am writing to encourage you to support the team this year. We aim to raise more than $25,000 to help cover some of the expenses of our winter training trip to the Florida Keys. The trip itself costs more than $80,000, and the majority is covered by the athletes and their families. For the rest, we rely on the generous gifts from our alumni to make this trip affordable for all of our team members, ensuring that everyone benefits from this experience.

You know as well as I do that our sport and others like it help make Middlebury education exceptional, so please take this chance to support our team.
