The CSR/ Labor Rights Program Associate is a new position at Verité intended to provide programmatic assistance for several Verité initiatives relating to Corporate Social Responsibility and Labor Rights. The Program Associate will assist Senior Program Staff with all facets of program areas, including research, recruiting, tool development, stakeholder management, materials creation, editing, subcontractor training, and organization, logistics, and dissemination of materials. Verité seeks a flexible and motivated individual capable of adding significant value to a rapidly growing organization as needs evolve.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong organizational skills and be very detail orientated
  • Be comfortable multi-tasking in a dynamic environment working on tight deadlines
  • Have a background in research, consulting, program management, labor issues, and/or report writing
  • Possess strong writing, editing, and fact-checking skills
  • Be able to supervise projects involving staff and partners from around the world, as well as interns and administrative staff
  • Have experience problem-solving alone while working as part of a highly functioning team
  • Be proficient with the Windows Office suite –including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Be comfortable working with international stakeholders or have relevant international experience
  • Qualifications

  • College degree in international relations/affairs, business, law, public policy, economics, international development, or other relevant discipline
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced and global environment
  • Outstanding verbal, written, editing and facilitation skills
  • Willingness to undertake business travel, with international travel a possibility
  • Fluency in English and strong preference for high proficiency in one other language, preferably Spanish, Chinese or French
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office; previous experience developing presentations in PowerPoint preferred; knowledge of social networking tools preferred; familiarity with photo manipulation, document layout, and/or web development a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in key CSR content areas, with some focus on labor/human rights and/or human resources management, preferred; knowledge of stakeholder engagement, supply chain, environment, or sustainable development in an international environment also helpful
  • Some previous experience with developing and maintaining client relationships and overseeing multiple projects under tight deadlines preferred
  • Some previous experience with event planning and implementation preferred
  • Knowledge and experience related to business processes such as strategic planning, organizational development, performance management, change management a plus
