HOPE Gleaning Coordinator/Intern

Work in Middlebury and learn about Gleaning this summer!

Do you know what gleaning is? Check out our November post with information.

The Intern will

  • Coordinate the gleaning of produce at local farms for distribution at the Addison County Emergency Food Shelf at HOPE.
  • Build positive relationships with local farmers and be in regular contact for the purpose of scheduling gleaning trips.
  • Develop a base of volunteers to assist in gleaning.
  • Develop methods to engage food shelf users in gleaning.
  • Provide recipes and information about how to use produce for food shelf users.

The intern will spend time in May training with Corinne Almquist, who has been coordinating gleaning in the county for the past year, and will continue and perhaps expand upon the work done to date.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2010. For more information and to apply, check out the posting on MOJO (keyword: HOPE)
