General Associate Intern with the Roosevelt Institution Washington D.C.

Our temporary staff members will work on a variety of potential projects, depending on the need at the time. This could mean fundraising, communications, publications, etc. All work will be substantive and goal-oriented.

Green Chemistry Program Intern Washington, D.C.

During January, EPA staff and interns will read all of the nominations, write a brief review of each nomination, discuss the nominated technologies in multidisciplinary group meetings, and prepare the nominations for the judging panel convened by the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute®.

Shelter Assistant with the John Graham Shelter Vergennes, VT 
Duties of the intern include: Identify and reach out to homeless individuals and families to build trusting relationships in order to foster empowerment and assist with transition from homelessness to housing; Assist with intake process, forms and recordkeeping as needed; Build trust and self esteem with clients through daily interaction via one on one and group activities. EXTENDED DEADLINE: October 16

Shelter Intern with the Middlebury Transitional Care Coalition/ Charter House Middlebury, VT

Full-time internship positions are available during J-Term at a transitional housing facility. The facility opened last January in response to critical housing needs in the midst of the economic downturn. Led by a team of committed community volunteers and Middlebury College student interns, the shelter was staffed 24/7 throughout the Winter months by an all-volunteer crew recruited primarily from area religious groups and Middlebury College. Interns are expected to assist with facility operations, work directly with house residents, and help coordinate other community volunteers. EXTENDED DEADLINE: October 16

Advocate Intern with WomenSafe  Middlebury, VT
Interns will provide direct service to women and children of diverse backgrounds and status, dealing with sexual violence, domestic violence (SV & DV) and life transitions by responding to crisis calls, in-person meetings and requests for information, provide on-going peer advocacy and on-going emotional support, and provide options and safety planning. DEADLINE: October 15

Financial Stability/Employer based AEITC project Intern with the United Way Middlebury, VT
The intern will work with the co-director and community partners to develop a sustainable program focused on expanding the offering and utilization of employer based Advanced Earned Income Tax Credits. This fits into our Financial Stability efforts to help increase earnings/cash in the households living at or near poverty. DEADLINE: October 16

Caromont Farm Intern Esmont, VA
Assist Gail Hobbs Page and husband Daniel Page in ALL aspects of sustainable farming, food production, and food education. DEADLINE: October 17
