The Summerbridge internship program provides a stipend and housing and will give you extraordinary hands-on classroom teaching experience that is unparalleled for college undergraduates. Summerbridge internship program is a collaboration between Teach Kentucky and Summerbridge, which is a summer school experience for at-risk youth. In addition to teaching at-risk students transitioning into middle school and high school you will be a full faculty colleague with other outstanding college peers for across the country. This summer experience will make you a highly a competitive candidate for the most prestigious post-grad teaching programs like Teach for America, Mississippi Teaching Corp and Teach Kentucky.
As an additional benefit to part-time teaching work, each teacher would take a single three hour college level course either in a classroom or online. This customized, transcript supplement will add required content to your undergraduate transcript that will accelerate your acceptance in these highly selective post-graduate teaching opportunities. Teach Kentucky is a prominent national postgraduate teacher recruitment program. Position Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Nutrition and Agriculture Educator will be to develop, grow, present, and evaluate GMFTS’ educational programs and provide general operational and administrative support. This is a full time year long AmeriCorps position.
The Educator will: Lead weekly 2-hour after-school program at school sites; Lead in-class nutrition, agriculture workshops, and farm field trips for students; Lead summer program activities for students and community members, and more.
Qualifications: A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; Strong interest in working with children, teaching experience preferred; Knowledge of gardening and vegetable production preferred; Excellent organizational skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing non-profit environment; Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Compensation: AmeriCorps Members who complete their term of service in a full time position will receive: A biweekly stipend totaling $11,900 for the year; Health insurance, if not covered under another policy; Child care, if necessary; Student loan forbearance; A $5,350 Education Award for past or future education; Available housing; Career mentoring, professional development, and strong work experience.

The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity will be holding its annual Ethics Essay Contest. The first prize winner will receive $5,000 and even the honorable mentions will get a hefty $500. ACE is developing its program nationally to educate youth on the practical ways to ‘Lower their emissions’ by reducing their own carbon footprint and to ‘Raise their voice’ by taking action in their school and community. Our program is scientifically based, interactive, and energizing — and we present it at no cost to schools. Alaska Geographic is seeking experienced educators for a summer of learning, exploration, and sharing. Alaska Geographic is a managing partner of the Murie Science and Learning Center facility at the entrance to Denali National Park. The Center has a stimulating and nurturing working environment that is dedicated to introducing visitors to this fascinating and unique ecosystem.
Instructional staff will be involved in programs ranging from one hour to multi-day field courses for youth and adults. In a typical day, staff will give a one-hour indoor science presentation in the morning and then lead a half-day bus/walking educational excursion in the Park. Additional responsibilities include working as a guide on multi-day field seminars in the park while assisting guest instructors by taking the lead in group management, driving, safety, leave-no-trace practices, cooking, and logistics at a remote field camp.
