The Center for Education offers cutting-edge, one-year graduate programs to produce a new kind of health care leader, grounded in the skills to measure, organize and improve health and health care. MPH:    Dartmouth offers a 1 year full-time non-traditional Master of Public Health program that provides a uniquely comprehensive introduction to the U.S. health care systems and its impact on population health. This 56 credit program offers a generalist curriculum using an evidence-based approach focused on health outcomes and methods of analysis common to public health, MPH students gain an understanding of the medical care and public health systems.

MS:  The Master of Science program trains its students to be leaders and researchers in health services delivery and quality improvement. This distinctive degree program graduates students with the capacity to research and implement initiatives that will advance a patient-centered, high quality, cost-effective health care system with access and excellence for all. The 56-credit MS degree can be completed full-time in one year or part-time over two to three years.

New Sector ALLIANCE : Summer Fellowship 2013-2014 program!!

The New Sector Summer Fellowship program is an intensive, 11-week leadership development program for individuals interested in the social impact sector. Fellows are selected from a highly competitive pool to provide support to Boston and San Francisco organizations that enhances that organizations’ service to their constituents. Our Summer Fellowship program includes:

 The Summer Fellowship program:   is tailored to undergraduate juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. Fellows serve full-time at a non-profit organization for 11 weeks. Alongside their service, Fellows receive rigorous training from experienced social impact leaders, including 1 week of kickoff training, biweekly afternoon seminars, and 1 full-day workshop. Fellows also receive one-on-one mentorship from leaders in the social impact sector, including for-profit management consultants and non-profit professionals.

MCSE Fellowship Program – open to sophomore febs, sophomores, and junior febs interested in engaging more with the field of social entrepreneurship : Application deadline- October 25

The primary goals of this program are to extend this cohort’s exposure to opportunity, encourage humility and awareness of the complexities in trying to effect social change, and to help students avoid isolated experiences as they learn from failures and successes. The secondary goals are to develop a culture of dedicated leaders that mentor other Middlebury students and to assist the college in its quest to support summer internship opportunities for all Middlebury students.

A part of their award, MCSE Fellows will:

  • Enroll in a January 2013 winter-term course, “Social Entrepreneurship in the Liberal Arts.”
  • Integrate the theory and practice of social entrepreneurship into their academic work.
  • Engage in two consecutive relevant summer experiences (with total grant support of up to $10,000.)

Teaching English in El Triunfo, Ecuador gives students an opportunity to help local students from ages 6-13 improve their English skills. Aside from the English teacher no one else in the town speaks English, so the ability to speak Spanish is necessary. The goal of this J-term program is to get the kids excited about English and help them improve their speaking abilities.
