College Counseling Workshop Sponsored By Admissions Office

College Counseling Workshop

The annual “Applying to College” workshop sponsored by the Admissions Office is scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2014 at McCardell Bicentennial Hall. High school age children and grandchildren of Middlebury alumni, faculty and staff as well as students from Vermont high schools are invited. Preference is given to juniors in high school. This program gives an overview of the general selective college application process and does not focus on Middlebury College. Areas covered are: the college application process: 1) choosing a college; 2) how to visit a college; 3) how a college admits its class; 4) financial aid; and 5) understanding the common application–a hands on session.

Individual afternoon appointments can be scheduled with Student Financial Services.

A group information session about Middlebury College will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. followed by campus tours at 2:30 P.M.  Register Here for Info Sessions and Tours

Mindfulness, Stress Relief and The Art of Being Enough

Do you ever feel like the pressure and high stakes of college are weighing you down? The Counseling Center presents an 8-week interactive workshop that will give you tools and strategies designed to help ease your stress, quiet your inner critic, and enhance your personal wellbeing and academic success. Lessons, discussion and practical exercises will cover a range of topics, including: Introduction to Mindfulness; The Pressure of Perfectionism; Letting Go of “Should”; The Pros and Cons of Worry; Shifting From Anxiety to Excitement.
