Please bring your folder to every training session. You will be paid for training on completion of all of your mandatory sessions.

New Peer Writing Tutors must attend all of these sessions.

Trained PWTs attend three: Org, Session 1 or 2, and Session 3,4, or 5.

All sessions are scheduled for CTLR (Davis Family Library 225).

Mentor Training Session 6 –

Topics: Advising, Grammar Review, People Who Can Help. Note: This session is on WEDNESDAY.
Trained PWTS attend from 4:30-5:30. The second hour is optional for you.
Trained ACES  (and PWTS who did Pre-Advising) need only attend from 5:30-6:30. The first hour is optional for you.
FYSMs with no prior training attend from 4:30-6:30
All FYSMs must fill out the enclosed forms—either at the meeting or electronically: Future Plans of PWT and FYSMs10 FYSM_evalformf10
If you worked in a class this semester, please complete this survey: Survey for FYSMs in ClassesF10
For ACES, this is the last training session this semester.  You will be paid for training at the next pay period. If you are an international student who cannot work more than 20 hours a week, please e-mail me about the best time for me to submit your training hours.

We have 47 Mentors in First-Year Seminars, 15 Peer Writing Tutors in college writing and writing program classes, and thirteen Peer Writing Tutors conducting drop-in shifts in CTLR and Brainerd Commons.
This Thursday, we will see you for Session #2–Getting Started.

  • Peer Writing Tutors should bring a paper to workshop.
  • Mentors should bring a paper to workshop and all four class syllabi
  • Always bring your training folder
