CTO Reminders

Categories: Midd Blogosphere

The arrival of the peak summer vacation season is an opportune time for a couple of CTO usage reminders.  Benefits-eligible staff employees please note that:

Floating Holidays

“Floating Holidays” are those holidays on which the College is partially open for business (that is, some departments are staffed and others are not).  Designated Floating Holidays are: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.   With July 4th right around the corner, please remember to enter CTO time if you are usually scheduled to work on Thursdays but you do not work on Independence Day.

Exempt Staff and Partial Day CTO Usage

Exempt staff are reminded that CTO should generally be used in full day increments only.  Exceptions to the full day policy are allowed during approved leaves of absence, and occasionally when there is a need for a period of frequent partial-day absences.  In either case, partial day absences must be pre-approved before use.

For further details regarding these or other paid-time-off topics please see Section 4 of the Employee Handbook http://www.middlebury.edu/about/handbook.

Tuition Cash Grant Scholarship Program Gets New Name

Categories: Midd Blogosphere

Employees with dependent children taking advantage of the College’s “Tuition Cash Grant Scholarship” benefit will notice a name change in place for the fall semester: the “Tuition Cash Grant Scholarship” will now be known as the “Dependent Tuition Benefit”.  The new name is intended to more accurately reflect the nature of the benefit program.
