Breathe new life into your exercise routine and energize your body, mind, and spirit. Nia is a fun and unique, sensory-based movement practice that incorporates techniques from Dance (Jazz, Modern, and Duncan), Martial Arts (Tai Chi, Tai Kwan Do, and Aikido), and Healing Arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais Method, and Alexander Technique). Set to soul stirring music, Nia stimulates the whole body in a holistic and joyful way. This out-of-the-box fitness fusion is like no other practice you’ve tried before. Nia is a comprehensive “dance” cardio-fitness class that engages the whole body, includes mindful movement guidance and somatic education, and empowers people of all shapes and sizes. Nia offers the opportunity to enjoy the process of improving fitness through movement- without pain. Each class is a journey- join us and FEEL fantastic in your body! You deserve it!
* Each class includes warm-up, sustained non-impact aerobic conditioning, strength training, cool down and stretching. All routines employ 52 basic movements and techniques which increase flexibility, agility, mobility, stability, and strength. Classes are taken barefoot and are taught to diverse music, including pop, electronica, jazz, Latin, New Age, Indian and hip hop.
What to bring & wear
Wear clothes you can move comfortably in; Nia is done in bare feet.

Class size is limited to 20; register by contacting Barbara McCall(firstname.lastname@example.org) and completing a release form (Barbara can send to you via email). Bring your check for $64.00 made out to Alyson Young to the first class.
