Thanks for this suggestion. The Chicago Defender is indeed a great resource. However, LIS cannot, itself, legally digitize this paper as we do not own the copyright to this publication. The Defender has been digitized by a commercial vendor, and we have investigated pricing for this. Although fairly extortionate, we will include this in our consideration for new resources to purchase.
