Library Systems will be performing necessary security upgrades to the EZproxy server on Sunday morning during regularly scheduled downtime (6 am to 10 am) on 4/12/2015.
There will be no off-campus access for the Library’s subscription databases, e-books, and e-journals during this time. There will be intermittent access interruptions on campus, too. I expect the whole process to last no more than one hour. I apologize for any inconvenience.
This should be done by 10 am.
The NExpress library system will be down after 10 pm EDT tonight for maintenance. The system will be unavailable for searching, requesting, and borrowing for approximately 3 hours. This is ONLY NExpress and does not affect regular library searching via Summon or MIDCAT, nor regular borrowing of materials at the circulation desk.
From Serials Solutions:
The Client Center will have a downtime from 8 p.m. Friday, Sep. 16, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. During most of this downtime, your 360 Link service will remain available to your patrons. However, 360 Link (as well as the E-Journal Portal and 360 Search) will be unavailable to your patrons for about 20 minutes some time between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. During this downtime, any patrons trying to use 360 Link will see a message advising them of the downtime and inviting them to try again later.
(The “Client Center” is used by staff only. 360 Link service provides linking to full-text from Summon searches. The E-journal portal is our “Journals A to Z” list)
During this Sunday’s regular maintenance window we will be upgrading the operating system on the Juniper network switches. Each switch will need to be restarted after the upgrade and thus there will be a 5 minute network outage for the local network served by each switch in the following buildings at some point between 7 am and 10 am Sunday morning:
Athletics (including Natatorium and Rink)
Center for the Arts
This Sunday morning we will be upgrading PHP and the ffmpeg multimedia libraries on wasp, the campus multimedia server. Web access will be interrupted briefly while the upgrades are taking place.
This Sunday, during the regular maintenance down-time window, we will be completing network upgrades in Kenyon Arena, as well as replacing network connectivity equipment in Twilight Hall that serves the small residence houses on the east side of campus. Network service will be interrupted for about an hour in Kenyon, and there will be brief interruptions (a few minutes) of service to various east campus residences as network connections are moved. The rest of campus should not be affected.
This coming Sunday morning at approximately 3:00 am system patches will be applied to two production servers (Disel, Protos) that will require a restart and hence a brief interuption (approximately 5 minutes) of services.
The services affected include:
Several e-commerse forms
Lyris Email List Server
This coming Sunday morning, during the regular maintenance downtime period from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, we will be upgrading network infrastructure equipment throughout the Athletics complex (including the faculty offices, fitness center, natatorium, football stadium, and rink). Network service will be interrupted in various locations throughout the complex of buildings as we replace equipment. All services should be restored by 10:00am. The rest of campus should not be affected.
