As long as we have our core components to our vision captured I think we are good. I liked many of the proposals but I think we now have something we can work with for now. I agree that we should not spend too much more time crafting our vision statement.

I agree with Carrie and Jess. No need to spend much more time on the elevator speech. We don’t have that many elevators and most people take the stairs anyway.

I think your reminder to not spend too much time on this is wise, Carrie. It’s intended to be a guideline, to make sure we are all on the same page, and to give us something to tell people when they ask about the work we’re doing. Except for some rewording, I think the overall message is the same as what we decided on in our team meeting, so I’m not convinced we should spend more meeting time discussing it. I personally would love to move right along to the other items on our agenda!

I like this proposal too; it’s nice and simple.

When we met in person, I think we did a great job of discussing why each element of our first draft was or was not important to us. And, I remember that we were told not to spend hours on developing our vision statement.

So, I’d like to discuss this last proposal in person too (it will be quicker than writing out our thoughts). Perhaps we shouldn’t discuss it for very long though, given the guidelines we’ve received for writing a vision statement. We also want to be sure to get to other items from previous agendas, of course!

I like that you’ve added an object for us to act on to the second sentence, however, the first sentence says we are creating a web presence and the third sentence states it will be dynamic, so we need another way of saying this without reusing those words. How about simplifying it:

We are creating a web site with intuitive navigation, easy access to services and resources, inviting interfaces, and a workflow that allows simple maintenance.
