S. sits on the dinghy with the whittler, one of the younger, stronger, healthier-looking sailor. Despite not knowing how much time has passed by exactly since his first voyage, S. points out that whittler seems to have aged a lot.

As the dinghy sail towards land, S. and Maelstrom make several exchanges. S. calls out that he isn’t coming back. But Maelstrom states S. will come back to the ship happily and replies to S.’s sudden question about Sola with

“Y’ might if y’ mean to. / Y’ might if y’ meant to.”

Due to faint response, S. couldn’t clearly hear which one was Maelstrom saying. Both hint that the relationship between S. and Sola are strong and meaningful, with the latter response being more personal and significant to S.

In the margins, Eric and Jen discuss who left the S in Havana and when it was left. Eric brings up that FXC might not have told the whole truth. But then afterwards, Jen asks if she did tell the truth and Eric, who has talked to FXC, says that FXC said she told the whole truth.
