There are gunshot sounds that can be hears above the cave. All three of them, Corbeau, Pfeifer, and S are completely silent and can hear a commander’s voice through the rocks. Pfeifer is having a very difficult time walking. S. offers help to Pfeifer by showing willingness to carry him. When Pfeifer tells S. that S. can’t do it, S replies by saying they can do it together. Then, S realizes that his personality isn’t the type to offer a help that could put their life into risk. However, he was willing to do it in this particular situation. Jen makes a comments that she loves how S is surprised to find himself to be more altruistic than he thought he was.
