The omniscient narrator of Ship of Theseus speaks directly to the audience on this page as they describe the scene of the bomb. Just as S. is unable to stop the situation, VMS makes the reader feel helpless as they witness the placement of the bomb. VMS also describes how the bomb  is placed discretely, but strategically in a way that it would only harm the workers and not the police. Having this outsider’s perspective is similar to watching an inevitable chain of events that people create to meet an end. There is no plausible way to stop this from happening.

There are no margin notes, just a doodle of a bomb by Jen. The lack of notes might suggest a focus on the heavy situation without distraction. Eric also began bracketing a section, which is explained on the next page.
