The dark shape looks unreal and the harbormaster assumes it as a cloud formation. In the margins, Eric writes down Appearance VS. Reality. The harbormaster heads back home to his mother as he steps on the broken glass of city lights. When he greets S., the harbormaster is met with ignorance.

This corresponds to S.’s visit in Winter City, where everyone lives in the same city but no one interacts to each other. The harbormaster’s desire for comradeship and civility also relates to S. longing for interaction during his time in the Winter City.

In the margins, Jen asks Eric about his relationship with his family.

“Are you close to your family?”

“Not Really”

Finding another sensitive thing Eric doesn’t want to talk about.
