On “Individualization” Spring 2007: I came by John Steinbeck’s former house (MIIS) right after a summer walking by Robert Frost’s path (MIDD). What welcomed me here are bunch of GREAT students who were eager to learn Chinese and used Chinese to conduct research: Erin, Cait, Keegan, Scott, Rajeev, Ted, Luke, Daniel, etc and many more. I taught them with what I believe: Gedankengang (think-path) 思路. I hope they can find their path along the WAY of their Chinese journey. Luckily, I have many students who believe in what I believe. Thanks, Rajeev, thanks, Daniel, thanks, Valkyrie, thanks, Jasper, Ena, Yifei, Alan, and many more … Rajeev was chosen to be advancement fellow, and on 11/13 Daniel was chosen to be the graduation speaker …
When Robert Frost meets John Steinbeck, I am fortunate enough to have a bunch of great students in the Chinese Studies Program at MIIS– Enjoy your 思路 Gedankengang, dear you all, because 我思,故我在 Cogito, ergo sum;Je pense, donc je suis, thought on a black Friday~
