The IEM and IEM-MPA programs provide a rigorous, hands-on introduction to designing and facilitating meaningful international education programs.
Throughout their studies and during a professional practicum during the final semester, students will demonstrate their achievement of the five IEM program learning goals:
- International Education Theory & Practice: Demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in the field of international education by articulating and critiquing trends and research, engaging in current debates, and applying ethical frameworks and standards of good practice.
- Interpersonal, Intercultural, and Linguistic Competency: Work with and support others appropriately and effectively in socially, culturally and linguistically diverse environments so that all can thrive.
- Program Design and Assessment: Design, implement, and assess learner-centered international education programming.
- Program Administration: Contribute to effective and equitable program administration through project management, data management, budgeting, and people management.
- Sustainable Education: Apply appropriate sustainability frameworks by engaging stakeholders and partners to effectively support students, programs, organizational, and community needs.
Samples of students’ work are available through the E-portfolios linked on the side of this page.
