This course will, at times, touch on difficult subjects. Racism; sexism; violence against the powerless; revenge. We will need to support each other during these conversations. Please count on me–depend on me–to provide a trusting, safe learning community for each of you.

Your performance in this class will be based on three related contributions that you make to our course:

• Your daily contribution to our learning community (25%)
• In-class writing and peer reviews (15%)
• Three assignments (20% each)
