Get Involved

The IceShow is so successful every year thanks to devoted parents who help with all aspects of the show. Here is a list of volunteer jobs that we need every year. Communication will go out allowing parents to sign up. If you like to raise your hand beforehand, just email us.

  • After Show Party Coordinator (organize party after Sunday show: order pizza & cake, get drinks, utensils, work with helpers to divide up work including set up and clean up)
  • After Show Party Helper (2) (help getting stuff, setting up and cleaning up after party)
  • Concession Stand Coordinator (buy food/water for concessions stands for both shows (having COSTCO membership very helpful!) and train and organize helpers for 2 concession tables on Saturday and 2 concession tables on Sunday)
  • Concession Stand Helper (2) (bring in box that can be used for cash box and sell concessions before and during show (show can be seen from table) – both shows)
  • Flower Coordinator (gets pricing from Shaws, collects orders from parents, orders flowers, works with helpers to get tall flowers sold)
  • Flower Helper (sells flowers before and during both shows)
  • Family & Volunteer Ticket Coordinator (get family tickets from box office and hand out tickets)
  • Prop Handler (needs to be on skates, for one number set up props for both shows)
  • Announcer (Read script during both dress rehearsals and both shows)
  • Pipe and Drape Coordinator (gets pipe and drape and coordinates with helpers, has diagram to put up curtain)
  • Pipe and Drape Helper (6) (helping to put up curtain before dress rehearsals and both shows and take them back down after rehearsals and shows)
  • Paper and Lights Coordinator (gets lights and paper and coordinates with helpers)
  • Paper and Lights Helper (6) (helping to put up lights and paper around rink up before Saturday shows and take down after Sunday Show)
  • Program & Tickets Handler (4) (take tickets at door and hand out programs)
  • Spotlight Operator (2) (operate spotlight during both dress rehearsals and both shows)
  • Clean up Crew (8) (clean up after Sunday show, run through stands and dress rooms to pick up litter)
  • Make-up artist (1 for each skating group) (help kids who would like make-up to apply it for both dress rehearsals and both shows)
  • Box Parent (4) (For 4 young groups: makes sure kids are in time in box, sit there quietly (without food), cover up their costumes and go out to curtain on time (1 number ahead of their number) both shows)
  • Costume Coordinator (collaborates with coaches to design and implement costumes for each number)
  • Costume Helper (1 for each skating group) (responsible for costumes of their group: helps organize and store costumes at rink after dress rehearsals and Saturday show)
  • Publicity Coordinator (gets poster/flyers printed, contacts parents to distribute posters and contacts media outlets)
  • T-Shirt Coordinator (gets t-shirt designed, orders from parents, orders t-shirts and distributes and collects monies)
  • Filming Coordinator (finds student to film both ice shows, ensures that show is shown during party and video is edited and shared online)
  • Budget & HR Coordinator (creates budget, hires coaches, tracks budget, approves timesheets, processes fees and reimbursements for show expenses)
  • Technology Coordinator (sets up website, listservs, test links, advises on technology questions)
  • Registration Coordinator (gets Ice Show started every year, sends out announcement, collects registration forms, college waiver forms, informs skaters and their families of skating times, etc.)
