Topic: HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa: The role of poverty in the HIV/AIDS epidemic

 

Biography:

Erick Gong joined the Economics faculty as an assistant professor in the fall of 2011.  His primary research interest is international development, with a focus on health and education in sub-Saharan Africa.

Erick received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley where his primary advisors were Ted Miguel and Betty Sadoulet.  His dissertation focused on using economics tools to better understand the HIV/AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa.
