The Charter House, transitional winter housing located in downtown Middlebury, has been in operation since 2007. Over the past five years, the housing has provided over 60 individuals and families with shelter and security during the harsh winter months and has served thousands of free lunches. • EIA Civic Engagement Weekly Volunteer Opportunities – Check the newsletter for multiple volunteer opportunities!
• Sugar on Snow 2013 Volunteers: Each year, the Green Mountain Audubon Center hosts three Sugar on Snow parties in the month of March to celebrate their sustainable, bird-friendly maple sugaring program and offer free education programs to the public.  They need help from volunteers to lend a hand serving refreshments, keep a fire going and help visitors park.

EIA Events:

• March 11: Prep for the Job Fling – In preparation for the EIA Spring Job Fling, come learn about potential employers and how to take advantage of this opportunity!
• March 11 & 12: Fund for Public Interest Group Info Table – The Fund for the Public Interest is a national nonprofit that builds support for progressive organizations. Join to gain knowledge of pressing concerns the country is facing and how to effectively generate public support.
• March 13: Middlebury Spring Job Fling – Seniors, not sure what to do after Middlebury? This is your chance to meet with a variety of liberal arts-friendly employers, like the Peace Corps, and Career Services staff all in one convenient place! Participating employers will be added to MOJO as they register.
• March 13: Peace Corps Recruiter-in-Residence Open Hours: Considering a career in International Sustainable Development? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of community members? If you answered yes, you should consider becoming a Peace Corps volunteer after graduation.
