Watson Fellowship provides a $25,000 grant to college graduates of “unusual promise” a year of independent, purposeful exploration and travel – in international settings new to them – to enhance their capacity for resourcefulness, imagination, openness, and leadership and to foster their humane and effective participation in the world community. He is the author of ten cookbooks, one of which won the James Beard/KitchenAid Cookbook of the Year. Wright’s approach to food writing is rooted in his successful career in the field of international affairs, as he was the Executive Director of the American Middle East Peace Research Institute.   • Monkton World Language Program: Volunteers still needed this semesterThe Monkton Central School World Language Program introduces children from kindergarten through sixth grade to a different language and culture, an experience which will be continued during middle and high school. Middkids teach various languages four times during the semester in an elementary classroom. Volunteers are still needed to: co-teach French on Mondays 2:15 – 3PM OR teach French or Spanish. If you are interested in one of these volunteer opportunities, email coordinator Jennifer Stanley, jstanley@wildblue.net.
