The all-day Amka Africa Conference 2013 (Amka Africa=Awake Africa in Swahili) being held at Middlebury College on Saturday, April 13th will discuss the global consequences of the changes in Africa with an emphasis on how youth creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation are changing the face of the continent and its interaction with the rest of the world.

The event featuring keynote appearances from David Moinina Sengeh, a graduate student from Sierra Leone in MITs Media Lab and a successful social entrepreneur, and Fred Swaniker, the Ghanaian founder of the African Leadership Academy will be open to all students, faculty and staff on campus. The Conference aims to raise awareness and expose the Middlebury campus to the changes that are taking place on the African continent as well as culture and entertainment (food, fashion show, musical performances and many more surprises).

  Career day : Boston Job Recruitment Event

Deadline to apply is Monday, October 8th at midnight

ECCD is a day-long interviewing event in Boston  that provides you with an opportunity to apply for jobs with over 30 employers from a variety of industries.  Several  Job opportunities in different sectors such as Environmental, non-profit ,education and healthcare.  Employers including Epic, match education, Apprise incorporated, Cambridge Associates, and more are looking for liberal arts students like you. Students can have multiple interviews in one day while only needing to travel to one location.  Middlebury seniors are hired at this event every year.  You could be next!

The event will take place on Friday, November 2nd from 9:00 am- 5:00 pm at the Back Bay Events Center located at 200 Berkley Street, Boston.

This Friday, we’re holding the first in a series of informal workshops where you can get some guidance from EIA staff on how to interpret your results AND use some of the other features that TypeFocus offers.

Make sure to bring your results and/or your laptop and your questions/feelings. Can’t make it on Friday? No worries — we’re scheduling more of these workshops at different times throughout the fall.

Just when you need a boost Career Services, presents our 8th Annual Spring Job Fling for all Middlebury seniors! This is your chance to meet with a number of Midd-friendly employers and Career Services staff—who will be handing out job leads—all in one convenient place.

What should I expect at the Spring Job Fling?

Bring your resume and prepare to network! Come ready to represent yourself: where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going. Want to make a good impression with a particular employer? Consider dressing for success: swap the tee for a collared shirt/blouse and jeans for slacks. Some of these employers will be offering on-campus interviews before or after the event (check MOJO for details and to apply).

 Middlebury FoodWorks: Louisville is a nine-week competitive PAID internship program – with FREE housing – centered on the different aspects of a local food economy in Louisville, KY. This information session will provide an overview of the program and its benefits, the kind of internships available, and answer any questions you may have!
