Blue Engine partners with public high schools serving low-income communities to increase academic rigor and prepare dramatically greater numbers of students for postsecondary success.

Success in college is shaped by many factors, but research has consistently shown that academic rigor during high school is the single strongest predictor of whether students sink or swim once they enter college. To ensure students build strong academic foundations in high school, we recruit, train, and support Blue Engine Teaching Assistants (BETAs), recent college graduates who collaborate with teachers to help students develop advanced skills in mathematics, literacy, and social cognition before they set foot on campus.

The application deadlines for the 2013-2014 BETA class are February 18th and March 11th. To apply for these positions please visit www.blueengine.org/apply. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to admissions@blueengine.org.
