International Study or Research Grants and English Teaching Assistantships
For more than 65 years, the federal government-sponsored Fulbright U.S. Student Program has provided future American leaders with an unparalleled opportunity to study, conduct research and teach in other countries. Fulbright grants aim to increase mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange while serving as a catalyst for long-term leadership development.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards over 1,700 grants annually and currently operates in more than 140 countries worldwide. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships are now available to over 60 countries. Fulbright grants provide funding for round-trip travel, maintenance for one academic year, health and accident coverage and may also provide full or partial tuition.

Applications must be submitted electronically to Middlebury by the campus closing date of 12:00 Noon, Friday, September 27. For the national deadline, applications must be submitted electronically by October 15, 2013.
New sector alliance operate two AmeriCorps programs:
New Sector AmeriCorps Program Participants (Residents and Fellows) are selected from a competitive applicant pool to provide Boston or San Francisco Bay Area organizations (“host sites”) support that enhances the organizations’ service to their constituents. Residents engage in capacity-building projects such as measuring impact, developing collaborations and partnerships, promoting effective use of technology, engaging volunteers, and expanding communication and strategic marketing efforts. We develop each project in coordination with host sites to ensure a substantive, high-impact experience that benefits the host site and larger community, while building the program participant’s character as well as leadership, civic engagement and professional skills.
Every year Wild Gift recruits outstanding new leaders to its Leader Network. Through a rigorous application process, Wild Gift recruits dynamic young individuals (ages 21-35) with innovative, entrepreneurial ideas. Successful applicants exhibit a deep passion and commitment to wilderness and sustainability and the capacity to bring better world projects to fruition.

Sustainable Harvest’s Summer Fellowship Program hosts fellows at their offices around the world–either at their headquarters in Portland, Oregon, or in their origin offices in Lima, Peru; Oaxaca, Mexico; or Kigoma and Moshi, Tanzania. Fellows receive a stipend and work alongside staff on projects related to business communications, impact measurement, development funding, and other tasks that give them a broad understanding of their mission and practices as a social enterprise and an opportunity to develop professionally.
The New Sector Summer Fellowship program is an intensive, 11-week leadership development program for individuals interested in the social impact sector. Fellows are selected from a highly competitive pool to provide support to Boston and San Francisco organizations that enhances that organizations’ service to their constituents. Our Summer Fellowship program includes:
The Summer Fellowship program: is tailored to undergraduate juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. Fellows serve full-time at a non-profit organization for 11 weeks. Alongside their service, Fellows receive rigorous training from experienced social impact leaders, including 1 week of kickoff training, biweekly afternoon seminars, and 1 full-day workshop. Fellows also receive one-on-one mentorship from leaders in the social impact sector, including for-profit management consultants and non-profit professionals.

The primary goals of this program are to extend this cohort’s exposure to opportunity, encourage humility and awareness of the complexities in trying to effect social change, and to help students avoid isolated experiences as they learn from failures and successes. The secondary goals are to develop a culture of dedicated leaders that mentor other Middlebury students and to assist the college in its quest to support summer internship opportunities for all Middlebury students.

Fellows are fully employed by their host company and receive health benefits through their employer. Salaries are estimated at $32,000 – $38,000. All Fellowship programs and benefits are provided at no charge to each Venture Fellow.

This fellowship is a staff position through August 2014 at Environmental affairs department, Middlebury college . Familiarity with current student sustainability initiatives and student leadership strongly preferred. Candidates who are Middlebury graduates preferred.
Salary/Wage: $29,278 Hiring Minimum.
Thirty percent of the Sustainability Communications & Outreach Coordinator’s job is designing and implementing culture and behavior change programs with the Director of Sustainability that will help members of the Middlebury College community to engage more effectively in practices of sustainability. About 30% is communicating Middlebury’s sustainability initiatives and the success stories of individuals and groups to internal and external audiences through writing, speaking, video, and managing the Sustainability website and Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest Facebook page. An additional 15% is compiling data and producing reports for assessments such as the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS).
