In the laboratory of Dr. Kimberly Stegmaier, Dana-Farber/Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Research focuses on the appication of chemical genomic approaches to cancer therapy discovery with the ultimate goals of 1) improving understanding fo the basic biology of cancer, and 2) translating bench discovery to clinical care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments to support the goals of scientific research in cancer and chemical genomics
- Operate and maintain lab equipment to complete investigations
- Prepare, order, and maintain stocks of necessary reagents, solutions, and supplies
- Document, compile, and analyze experimental data
- Report data in oral and written formats
- Maintain and improve technical knowledge base
- Participate in team meetings for experimental planning
-Participate in prominent cancer meetings at the DFCI and Broad Institute
Qualifications:
BA in biology or related field required (recent grads encouraged)
Familiarity with basic lab techniques, principles of molecular bio
Experience working in medical or scientific research setting
Knowledge of computers, experience with databases
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
Two-year commitment required
