Health Professions Office: Scheduling Appointments with Mrs. Wickland

The office is located at Adirondack House 102; we are open Monday - Friday from 8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. with an hour off for lunch (usually sometime between 12 and 1:30).

Meet with the Adviser:

May, 2013: until May 24, Open hours only, on Tuesdays (May 7, 14, 21) and Fridays (May 3 and 17): open to all pre-health students. Current applicants: additional times available Tuesdays and Fridays by request [schedule an appointment by calling (802) 443-2455. We do not make appointments by e-mail].

OPEN HOURS from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon, 15 -minute appointments on a first-come, first-served basis. Schedule subject to change because of travel, meetings, etc. As of this date, Open Hours will not be held on: May 10.

Bring to Open Hours or your appointment --- or send as an attachment in advance, if you're having a phone appointment --- a printout of your current Banner Web Degree Progress Report (on the same Banner Web page as the unofficial transcript, but much more concise and wasting less paper!).

Check in with the coordinator, Annie Dolber, in Adirondack House 102 [and sign in on the reception computer], before meeting with Mrs. Wickland.

Open Door Clinic: volunteer as a medical interpreter

The Open Door Clinic is seeking Volunteer Medical Interpreters. Contact Ashley Calkins in EIA/Civic Engagement (jcalkins@middlebury.edu, or (802) 443-3099) for details and an application: application deadline is March 15.

As a free medical clinic serving uninsured and underinsured low income individuals in Addison County, the Open Door Clinic provides essential medical care to individuals of many backgrounds. Approximately 30% of their patients are Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients requiring assistance of medical interpreters to facilitate communication and thus insure high quality medical care. Although they have access to telephonic interpretation, they rely most heavily on volunteer medical interpreters available for in-person interpretation at clinics and referral appointments. The Open Door Clinic is located close to campus at Porter Hospital!
