Spring 2015 Excel Learning Series

META LAB and the DLC are collaborating once again to provide a series of Excel workshops during the first half of the Spring 2015 term to support the MIIS community.  Learning sessions will take advantage of the Lynda.com Excel 2013 Essential Training online video tutorial series progressing from introductory topics to more intermediate skills and functions.

Spring 2015 sessions will be held in CF442, Pac Lab. Your facilitator will be META Lab graduate assistant and Data Analysis Teaching Assistant: Jeff Zeitz.

There are four sessions currently scheduled. Session #1 will cover the basics, and we want to be clear, it will be the very basics, while subsequent sessions will move toward more advanced skills. But please feel free, if you are already familiar with Excel, and don’t think you need a basic class, to sign up for any of the classes in the series that might interest you.

We will be using a Flipped Classroom format for these classes. Participants are responsible for watching the videos associated with the class(es) they will be attending, so we can work with the skills you have learned and answer any questions you might have.

A list of the videos associated with the various sessions and who might most benefit from watching them is linked in the “Video List” link associated with each session. The videos are labeled based upon the skill level they would most likely help. There are currently four groups on the lists, “Beginner” – if you have very little experience with Excel, this is you, “Middle” – if you have some experience with Excel but not a lot, this is you, “Everyone” – this is information everyone should know, take a look at the description provide with the video and determine for yourself if you need to watch it, and lastly, “ALL” – this is a video that I think everyone should watch, even if you have been using Excel for a while.

The bullet points listed below each class session is associated with the Lynda.com videos we will cover in that class.
