beyond the green

In January of 2014, a group of students created beyond the green, a collective blog space meant to serve as an alternative platform to The Campus and Middbeat for students whose voices are “marginalized and silenced.” The founders include Lily Andrews (class of ’14), Veronica Coates (’14), and Ally Yanson (’14).

According to its mission statement, ” We want to be proactive, not reactive, and use writing as a way to support and ultimately achieve structural and institutional change.”

Responses to beyond the green varied, and most criticism centered around its policies of what is published on the site and the collective’s decision to disable commenting on all publications.
