J-Term 2014 Updates

The chemicals are mixed, film is stocked, and the Darkroom is in full swing this J-term!

The Darkroom Club is selling Kodak Tri-X 400 film for $3.50 a roll to its members.

We have a few lenses and cameras to loan out.  Tripods and other accessories are available to borrow from Davis Library.

For those interested in using the Darkroom in the spring, you can sign up now and pay $65 for the rest of the year (including j-term!).

Stay tuned for club workshops early this spring.

J-Term Intro Workshop

The Darkroom Club Manager Caroline Fernandes will be teaching a J-term workshop this winter for Beginners to Darkroom Photography.  Sign up beginning December 1st!

Introduction to Darkroom Photography

A beginner’s introduction to black and white film photography and darkroom techniques. This workshop
will begin with a lesson on the manual camera: how a basic 35mm camera works and how to use the
functions to take photographs. Then we will learn to develop our film in the darkroom, as well as use the
enlargers to print from the film negatives. Other techniques, such as burning and dodging, will be
discussed as well. Participants will need a working 35mm camera (borrow one from a friend or relative
if you don’t have one!). This workshop will be most fun and useful to those who have no experience
with darkroom photography.
MEETING: Thursdays; 7:00-9:00pm
1/9; 1/16; 1/23; 1/30

LOCATION: Forest Darkroom
INSTRUCTOR: Caroline Fernandes
PRICE: $55.00 (includes all materials)
