Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Number of billed equipments (yes, I know that’s not a word…) for November: 5 (down from 15 in October – yay penalty points!)
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Every seat and carrel in use
• Lots of reserves and equipment use
• Begging and cajoling students to take shifts
• Poster session last week – a few issues
Davis Family:
• Dan led a create lists tutorial for Acq, ref, and circ staff – well attended
• Circ sub interviews (5)
• Lots of snacks for the students
• 24/7 going smoothly
• Library packed
• Penalty point explanations still common at the desk
• Last week of math (Congratulations, Kim!)
• Planning for projects for next week
• Planning web helpdesk implementation
• A few reference questions at the circ desk during librarian off hours
Stacks:
• I wee bit ‘o reshelving
• Thesis key planning for winter
Reserves:
• Final project turned in for copyright course! (Congratulations, Kellam!)
• That fun time when Fall, Winter, and Spring requests are all coming in
• Attended “Arts and Humanities Divisional Advisory Group” meeting
• Ran list of ebooks on reserve for Fall for Rebekah

Challenges:
• Some sick staff
• Some lack of student coverage
• ILL’s are creating a lot of penalty point issues, especially with renewals
• Opening Armstrong over the weekend
• 4 dead mac chargers

  1. A few reference questions at the circ desk during librarian off hours
    –Meaning, 5-7 pm weekdays? Or Saturdays? or…

  2. Yes, these questions were during the off-hours, between 5 and 6 PM. Questions came in at 6:00 PM, 5:30, 6:45 PM and 7:10 PM (Thursday eve).
