User Services Weekly Report

Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Percentage of my being that loathes car salesmen: 103%
• Number of documents added to ERes for Fall: 600
• Total items on physical reserve: 1,350
• Number of carrels available on Wednesday: 14
• Number of phone calls the morning of carrel booking: 6
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Must be busy over there – neither sent a report! I will make up some stuff
• Lab is busy
• Some reserves
• Student training, etc.
• Locusts
Davis Family:
• Best carrel day EVER. Thanks to everyone involved (Todd, Kim, Janine, Barbara, Mike Lynch, Brenda…) Very smooth all around.
• Very busy, especially in the evenings
• Lots of carrel check-outs, questions
• Student schedules, gaps, hiring, training (only a few gaps remain)
• Tagging and labeling all cords inside cameras
• Planning DiSC for LiS in October
• Bought a car
• Funeral held for the self-check machine
• Bumper Twizzler crop! (thanks, Mary!)
• Billing from Spring, Summer
• Cleaned the DVD repair machine
Stacks:
• Carrel day!
• Training new students
Reserves:
• Approved and signed up for “Foundations in Copyright Management and Leadership” starting 9/24 for 8 weeks
• Still fighting the onslaught of reserves

Space Team: back to meeting, discussing info desk
CT Team: leaderless – the team will now meet every other week while the AD’s decide how to proceed

Challenges:
• Time in day enough it is not (say Yoda, of reserves)
• 15 books needed for reserve are missing – sent to Acquisitions
• Only major issue with carrel booking: Feb seniors are in Millennium as juniors and couldn’t book online
• Cords not getting returned with cameras
• Students not showing up for shifts, not responding to emails and calls
• Compact shelving acting up
• A few DVD screening issues
