Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Nothing significant
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Quiet, with a few research students around
• ILL steady
• Book weeding project underway
• Bound physics journals pulled for recycling
• Theses processing continues
• Monthly circ lists being searched
Davis Family:
• Staff/Fac laptops getting updated (both Mac and PCs) with faster, better machine and Windows 7
• In communication with the Bookstore about popular equipment items – they have increased their stock so we can send people there when we run out (digital voice recorders, Mac chargers, dongles, iPhone chargers)
• Students helping Arabella on projects
• Bang-up job digging through trash for missing research materials
• Many alums on Saturday
• Great circ retreat
• Summer students have been great
• User Services goals retreat
• Thinking about circ goals
• Equipment inventory
• Searching “to be replaced” lists
• Cleaning up end-of-term Nexpress stragglers
Stacks:
• Reshelving done
• Working on cleaning stacks
• Shifting H’s
• On vacation
Reserves:
• Center for Intellectual Property conference in Baltimore was great!
• BL and LS reserve lists – students pulling materials
• Planning for BL unpacking and training

Web team: on hiatus
Space Team: n/a
CT Team: Drafted new charge ; planning for Segue migration and Moodle / Course Hub work session for LS faculty

Challenges:
• Broken compact shelving trapping precious PL books
• Last minute BL reserve lists
• Earlier than usual pickup date for BL reserve books
• Flurry of activity around a LS student with auditory impairment and their needs for reserve films
• Keeping the students busy
• Limitation in Millennium regarding deleting items that have been on reserve – discussing pros and cons of different options
