Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Days until evaluations are over: 58
• Reserve emails processed for J-term: 333
• CDs that came up from the cataloging backlog: 700
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Training new students
• Lots of ILLs
• Windows 7 circ computer installed
• Possibly new lab computers next week
• 161 lab all on Windows 7 now
• Annual evaluation prep
Davis Family:
• Student schedule stuff
• Lots of student training
• Busy circ desk
• Equipment in high demand
• All LIS meeting
• Working on SLA worksheet
• Working on circ/User Services survey questions
Stacks:
• Chinese collection checking
• Hired two new stacks students
• CDs from cataloging, shifted shelving, re-labeled shelves
• Media and oversize CD shift will be next week
Reserves:
• Met with SGA Senior Senator re: Reserves — the SGA is currently discussing the socio-economic climate at Midd and the cost of books was raised
• Attended “Video Tutorials for Library Instruction” presented by Larraby Fellows of CCV
• Connected with ADA office re: reserve policies and loan periods
• Provided special reserve services to John Elder for his online course on Frost
• Working with Steve, Terry, and media serves re: VHS/preservation DVD project
• Emailed new faculty who are starting in Spring Term about reserves
• Reserves training for new Circ students
• Spring Term requests rolling in

Web team: Usability testing, planning
Space Team: n/a
CT Team: archiving Segue pages

Challenges:
• St. John’s college (BL NM) unwilling to house reserve books for the summer
• Out-of-print books needed for reserve for Spring course
• Armstrong LCD projectors being returned to Davis
• Fac/staff Macbook stolen
