User Services Weekly Report

Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• New students hired at circ: 6
• Camcorders billed (lost) in the past month: 2
• Items on reserve: 2098
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Library very busy – all carrels in use
• Lots of email reminders to patrons about overdue equipment
• Lots of shift swapping
• Some student training with students working during exams who are new to Armstrong
• Setting winter and Spring schedules
• Poster session in the Great Hall
Davis Family:
• Added a new iPad to the collection
• All iPads now up to date with iOS 5 and additional ebook reader at the request of the ref librarians
• Facebook page created for students with feed from the circ blog
• LCD projector loans are crazy
• Getting input on training today from students – will update the training wiki
Stacks:
• Returns
• Returns
• Returns
• Re-shelving
• Returns
• A few returns
Reserves:
• Still putting stuff on for Fall
• WT picking up
• Copyright presentation last week with Terry

Web team: Summarizing User Needs focus groups
CT Team: Drafting Segue decommissioning message to faculty

Challenges:
• More holes in the exam schedule than would be preferred
• Lights not working as they should during 24/7
• Patrons complaining about the older digital cameras. May be time to retire them
• Equipment overdues – especially LCD projectors – are getting ridiculous
