Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics:
• Total circs by students last year (from Oberlin stats): 100,242
• Time it takes to upgrade an iPad to iOS 5: what feels like 3 hours
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Fixed lab computers
• Helped with smart classroom
• Dec. exam schedule – 2 spots left
• Armstrong training for circ staff
• Lots of ILL and NExpress
Davis Family:
• Lots of student scheduling, subbing, shifting – gah!
• Quite a bit of activity the Saturday after Thanksgiving
• Starting to think about hiring new students for the Spring
• Loaded all of the sign-up schedules into Google calendar
• Updated first iPad to iOS 5
• Work on SLAs
• Snacks purchased for 24/7
Stacks:
• Concentrating on shelving – may add another student
Reserves:
• Working on copyright presentation
• WT reserves post on the blog
• Prep for BLSE meeting
• WT reserves coming in

Web team: did not meet
Space Team: n/a
CT Team: did not meet

Challenges:
• Lots of overdue equipment lately, and patrons not responding to emails, threats, etc. Scrambling to honor bookings
• VIP requested an iPad, but they were all booked. Luckily, someone gave up their booking
• Google calendar does not always play nicely with others
• Ethernet port we use for fac./staff to login to laptops is malfunctioning
• iPad returned locked by patron – had to factory reset
