Circulation Services – Circ, Reserves, and Stacks

Statistics: Total circs, 2010-11: 212423
Total gate count, 2010-11: 1,292,493
Highlights: (Progress towards Goals, accomplishments)
Armstrong:
• Challenge to the students to finish shelf-reading by the end of LS
• New color printer/copier/scanner
• Lots of patron education re. printing
• Library busy
• Shelf-ready books coming over
• ILL/NExpress has been slowing down
• Time to start July bindery shipment
Davis Family:
• Student schedule in Google calendar – added to the circ blog
• Student training
• Wiki editing on the equipment page! (after some difficulty)
• Traffic steady from 6-9 pm, falls off after that
• Monthly/yearly stats, reports, fiscal rollover in Millennium
• Faculty slowly learning that they can’t have things for the entire summer
• Minor updates to the Borrowing page, wiki pages
• Starting work on Area goals
• Higher than usual guest borrower activity – setting up and renewing accounts
Stacks:
• DVD shift/project continues
• Helping out at the front desk more as activity is picking up
• Straightening shelves, finding errors
Reserves:
• Well-deserved vacation
• Steady influx of ERes and regular reserves for LS faculty, esp. personal copies
CT team: justifying the Course Hub feed ; planning trainings for Moodle
Space Team: on vacation

Challenges:
• Faculty wanting entire books on ERes
• Faculty expiring in Millennium (and Banner, apparently) who should not be expiring. Jim Ralph’s office is investigating. Faculty are unhappy.
• Being ignored by faculty who have billed items
